TheCRY is a nationally focused prayer ministry in Canada which has organized large-scale prayer events and online events since 2001.
THE BEGINNING:
The first CRY was organized by a vibrant group of visionary pastors from Calgary, AB, under the leadership of Steve Osmand. Through cooperation with a large national network, the team successfully gathered an estimated 10,000 Canadians to the Parliament of Canada to pray for the nation.
THE CONTINUATION:
In 2006, TheCRY was resurrected by Faytene Kryskow, a humanitarian missionary based in Vancouver, BC. She successfully regathered the nation with an estimated 7,000 participating that year.
Since 2006, TheCRY has taken place in the nation's capital several times and in cities across Canada (Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Edmonton, St. Johns (Nfld-Lab), Kingston, Iqaluit, Hollywood and Israel).
THE ONLINE SEASON:
In 2020, due to COVID, the movement began to gather online, with tens of thousands participating that year.
Since then, the movement has continued to grow, with regular online prayer events called The National Days of Prayer and the Life Room (a 24/7 online prayer room for the issue of life in Canada).
The last in-person event took place in 2019 at the War Memorial Museum in Ottawa.
2025:
The next in-person gathering will be on July 12th, 2025 in Ottawa, ON.
